TIA Renews Opposition to FCC’s Net Neutrality Order

Arlington, Va. (May 13, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today voiced support for the efforts of members of the information and communications technology industry to halt enforcement of an FCC order that reclassifies the Internet as a Title II utility.

Reacting to today's filing of motions to stay the rules with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, TIA CEO Scott Belcher issued the following statement:

“Once again, TIA stands with others in calling for a stop to the FCC’s efforts to regulate the Internet like a utility. The United States has the best Internet in the world because it is a product of a free flowing system that promotes innovation. The FCC’s new Title II rules will impact investment in new broadband infrastructure, impeding the growth and innovation that has that taken us this far.”
