Dr. John Mattison, CMIO of Kaiser Permanente, to Keynote TIA’s Network of the Future Conference - June 3 – 5 in Dallas, TX

 

Health Tech Leaders from AT&T, Intel, HealthSouth East Valley Acute Rehab Hospital, Aventyn and Current Analysis Discuss Innovation and Investment at TIA Conference

Arlington, Va. (May 12, 2014) – Health care technology will take center stage at TIA 2014: the Network of the Future, held June 3-5 in Dallas, Texas. The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today announced that the conference will feature a keynote by Kaiser Permanente Chief Medical Information Officer Dr. John Mattison and a high-level panel that will examine the trends and challenges of the e-health market. 

At Kaiser Permanente, Mattison is dedicated to advancing health information technology, and he led the first and largest deployment of Kaiser Permanente HealthConnect – the world’s largest civilian electronic health record, which gives the 14,600 physicians in Kaiser Permanente’s network immediate access to patients’ status and medical history as well as the latest medical research.  As CMIO, he leads many other innovation projects, ranging from mobile health care apps, telemedicine, big data analytics, and social analytics. 

As part of a track on Big Data and Privacy, health technology executives will examine how the industry can harness the power of the network and technological innovation to improve care, coordinate service delivery and increase productivity, while addressing data privacy, security, and reliability.

The panel, taking place at 1:30 pm on June 3, will feature the following health care technology executives, innovators and thought leaders:

TIA’s Network of the Future Conference will also feature a CTO Roundtable Luncheon, a Disruptors’ Competition, keynote presentations by AT&T Chief Technology Officer Krish Prabhu, Verizon SVP Ed Chan, and Ericsson Chief Technology Officer Vish Nandlall.  The event will center around three educational tracks focused on Wireless & 5G Networks, Big Data & Privacy and Software Defined Networking.  In addition, the conference will be accompanied by an invitation-only AT&T Supplier Conference highlighting AT&T’s vision of the User-Defined Network Cloud.
