TIA Applauds FCC Efforts to Streamline Equipment Authorization Process

Arlington, Va. (Dec. 31, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the Report & Order of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) that helps streamline its equipment authorization process and increases accountability for the laboratories and Telecommunication Certification Bodies (TCBs).

TIA released the following statement:

“TIA congratulates the FCC in taking notable steps today to streamline its equipment authorization process, while also increasing accountability and certainty for the laboratories and TCBs that are crucial partners in this process which TIA's hundreds of manufacturer and vendor members rely on.

“The steps taken in the Report & Order also complement FCC Chairman Wheeler's process reform effort. TIA looks forward to working with the FCC, the labs and TCBs, and other important stakeholders to ensure that the FCC's approval process continues to find ways to modernize and enable improved competition in the U.S.' dynamic ICT marketplace.”
