Arlington, Va. (Sept. 24, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today announced it is holding a special event that will examine the impact of two critical issues shaping the future of the information and communications technology (ICT) industry: the FCC's Open Internet proposal and soaring demand for online video.

The roundtable discussion, Future of Video, Competition, and Open Internet Roundtable, will also look at how new open Internet rules may affect competition and the delivery of content, with a particular focus on video. Media are invited to attend the event, which will be held next Tuesday, September 30, at the Occidental Grill in Washington D.C.

The Future of Video, Competition, and Open Internet Roundtable will specifically address changing consumer demand for video, its implications for mobile broadband networks and broadcasters, as well as the impact of the FCC proposed net neutrality rules on video consumption. Industry executives and thought leaders will also examine whether the open Internet rules will impact investment, the cost and manner in which consumers receive content over the Internet, and more.

Media is invited to attend, but must register. Space is limited, so register soon by contacting Farrah Kim, 202.568.8986.
