TIA Applauds Senate Passage of Significant Cybersecurity Legislation

Arlington, Va. (October 27, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the Senate for passing much-needed cybersecurity legislation – the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (S. 754).

TIA CEO Scott Belcher issued the following statement:

“Protecting our nation’s critical infrastructure from cyber attacks must be a priority – our national and economic security depends on it. The legislation passed by the Senate today bolsters our cyber defenses by providing the liability protections needed to encourage the voluntary sharing of cyber threat information. We applaud the Senate for moving this important bill and urge Congressional leaders to act quickly to send this bill to the President’s desk.”
