TIA Applauds Sen. Thune & Rep. Upton for Introduction of Net Neutrality Legislation

Arlington, Va. (Jan. 20, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today sent a letter to U.S. Senator John Thune (R-SD) and Representative Fred Upton (R-MI) in support of draft net neutrality legislation.

TIA Chief Executive Officer Scott Belcher released the following statement:

“We welcome the release of draft legislation on net neutrality and applaud Senator Thune and Representative Upton for their leadership on such an important issue. TIA believes strongly that reclassifying broadband Internet access under Title II will have significant adverse consequences.

“We look forward to working with Congress on a solution to net neutrality that would not apply regulatory excess and cripple continued private sector investment.”
