TIA Event will Bring Together Auto and Communications Industries to Explore the Future of Connected Cars

Event on March 30 in Concord, CA will be Held in Conjunction with the Unveiling of Largest Autonomous Vehicle Testing Site in the U.S.
Arlington, Va. (March 16, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) today announced it will hold a special event on March 30th to examine the future of intelligent cars with discussions about the technologies, opportunities, and challenges related to vehicle connectivity and automation. The event will be co-located with the unveiling of the GoMentum Station Connected Vehicle Program in Concord, CA – the largest autonomous vehicle testing site in the U.S.
TIA’s Connected Car Workshop will bring together executives from both the auto industry and communications industry, along with leaders from the U.S. Department of Transportation and major research universities, including Princeton University, Texas A&M and University of Michigan. The event will also feature a keynote from Contra Costa Transportation Authority executive director Randell H. Iwasaki.
TIA brings a unique perspective to the issues of vehicle automation and connectivity – looking at them from the perspective of modern communications networks and devices and the essential role they will play in delivering on the promise of autonomous vehicles and intelligent transportation.
