TIA Files Comments with FCC on Changes to Device Approval Process
Arlington, Va. (June 17, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today filed comprehensive comments in response to a Federal Communications Commission proposal on changes to the device approval process. TIA congratulates the Commission on its generally successful process that has developed to date, which has provided a dependable process for innovators of information and communications technology to get their products into the American stream of commerce. While we support the Commission’s timely examination, its goal of further streamlining the approval process, and many of the specific proposals from the Commission in this docket, we also have numerous suggestions on ways to further improve the system. We look forward to working with the Commission, along with third party testing labs and other stakeholders, in an open and collaborative way as the regulatory process moves forward.
