TIA Joins Pan-Industry Coalition Calling for Alternatives to Section 301 Tariffs

Arlington, VA (March 19, 2018) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today joined 44 other business groups, representing industries from agriculture to shipping to furniture, to send a letter urging President Trump not to impose duties in response to unfair Chinese trade practices. The letter also calls for concerted action with America's international partners on China trade concerns and encourages the Trump administration to allow for public comment on China trade remedies, including on the economic impact of any potential actions.

Cinnamon Rogers, TIA’s Senior Vice President of Government Affairs, issued the following statement:

“Along with dozens of associations, TIA urges the administration to refrain from unilateral actions that will end up hurting the U.S. economy. Tariffs will raise costs for U.S. consumers and businesses, undermining benefits from recent tax cuts.”
