TIA Launches New Documentary Series Featuring Executive Commentary on Top Issues Facing ICT Industry & the Network

First Episode in Online Series Premieres Today; Will Focus on M2M & the Internet of Things

ARLINGTON, VA (February 20, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today launched its brand-new Future of the Network Documentary. This four-part documentary web series, which is now available at TIA2013.org, will explore the most critical issues facing the future of the network through interviews with leading ICT industry executives.

The goal of the series is to offer top-level insight and analysis in a format that is easy to digest and available to anyone with interest in some of the ICT industry’s most important issues.  The first episode will focus on M2M and the Internet of Things, and include interviews with the executives of Alcatel-Lucent, Intel, and other industry-leading companies.  Future episodes will address broadband capacity, the future of government, health and education networks, and cloud computing.

“The TIA Future of the Network Documentary is gathering top executives for an inside look at the most critical issues facing the industry and the network,” said TIA President Grant Seiffert. “Each of the four episodes will take a close look at how these issues will affect individual businesses, consumers and the global economy.  Our goal is to have the series set the stage for an even more intense exploration of these topics at TIA 2013, our flagship conference, in October.”

Produced by TIA NOW, each episode in the Future of the Network Documentary will focus on the state of the ICT industry as it relates to two issues of critical importance.  The episodes will also explore the key hurdles and opportunities the issues present for the future of the network. The TIA Future of the Network Documentary will serve as a primer for TIA 2013, the organization’s flagship conference, which will take place Oct. 8-10 in Washington, D.C.  Each issue featured in the Future of the Network Documentary will be a key focus at TIA 2013.
