TIA Statement on McDowell’s Decision to Step Down  as FCC Commissioner

WASHINGTON, D.C. (March, 20, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today commented on the announcement by Robert McDowell that he will step down as a commissioner of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).  TIA President Grant Seiffert released the following statement:

“We are very appreciative of Commissioner McDowell’s many years of service, and disappointed that the FCC will lose a strong and dedicated leader.  Commissioner McDowell was a good friend to TIA and to our member companies, and he understood the important role these businesses play in creating jobs, fostering economic growth and serving consumers.  His actions over the years both advanced our industry and helped to make certain consumers had access to life-changing technologies.  We thank him for his good work at the FCC and wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
