TIA Supports Permanent R&D Tax Credit in Omnibus Package

Arlington, Va. – (December 16, 2015) The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today urged lawmakers to pass the tax legislation and spending bill, which include the Protecting Americans from Tax Hikes (PATH) Act to make the research and development (R&D) tax credit permanent.

TIA CEO Scott Belcher issued the following statement:

“TIA has long-fought for a permanent R&D tax credit to facilitate greater investment in leading-edge communications research. We are pleased that Congressional leaders has finally taken action on our long-standing priority. The result will be increased certainty for businesses that will lead to economic growth, more jobs here at home and further innovation to the benefit all Americans. We urge lawmakers to pass this legislation to make the R&D tax credit permanent.”
