TIA Supports Smart City Bill Authored by Sen. Cantwell and Reps. DelBene and Luján

TIA expressed support for smart cities legislation introduced today by Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Maria Cantwell (D-WA), along with U.S. Representatives Suzan DelBene (D-WA) and Ben Ray Luján (D-NM).

Cinnamon Rogers, TIA Senior Vice President, Government Affairs, commented:

“As Congress considers the future of our nation’s infrastructure, it must do so with a clear focus on putting smart technology to work for communities across the country.  We applaud Senator Cantwell, Representatives Delbene and Lujan for their leadership in promoting the value that smart cities and communities offer all of our citizens – consumers, local governments, and small businesses alike.  This bill will enable us to expand on each other’s successes by highlighting innovative models and best practices, establishing a technology workforce pilot, and developing other tools necessary to shape smart technologies that fit local needs.”
