TIA Urges Passage of CISA-Important Legislation Needed to Protect Against Increasing Cyber Threats

Arlington, Va. (October 20, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today urged the Senate to quickly pass the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (S. 754).

TIA CEO Scott Belcher issued the following statement:

“Urgent action needs to be taken to protect critical infrastructure against the increasing number of cyber threats. TIA is pleased that the Senate has decided to bring the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act (CISA) to the floor and we urge the Senate to quickly pass this critical cybersecurity legislation. By providing greater legal protection to those who share cyber threats and vulnerabilities, CISA will encourage voluntary sharing of data and help provide a stronger defense against hackers.”
