Latest TIA Documentary Emphasizes Profound Collaborative Shifts in Technology Value Chains

Video Features Interviews with Executives from AT&T, Intel, Cisco, Fujitsu & Other Industry Leaders

Arlington, Va. (Sept. 2, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today released "The Value Chain: Building Value in the Chain," the latest installment in its Network of the Future documentary series. Each episode in the series, which is produced by TIA's online video network TIA NOW, explores a critical issue facing the information and communications technology (ICT) industry.

"The Value Chain: Building Value in the Chain" examines the transformation of the traditional, linear ICT supply chain into an enhanced value chain in which each industry player – from chip maker to end-user and every company in between – communicates directly. The documentary highlights examples of increasing collaboration between suppliers and customers, and the role of these partnerships in dictating the success of new products and services. ICT Executives – including Doug Moore, SVP and COO of Fujitsu; Tim Harden, President of Supply Chain & Fleet Operations for AT&T; and Pranav Mehta, CTO of Intel's Communications & Storage Infrastructure Group – discuss the benefits of a more communicative value chain, as well as the drive towards multi-vendor systems and increasing demand for heterogeneous technologies and applications.

"The ICT value chain is a game-changing force that is enabling the current and future success of our industry," said TIA President Grant Seiffert. "The entire communications ecosystem – manufacturers, suppliers and network operators alike – are increasingly collaborating, and facilitating unprecedented innovation and faster time to market. As the ICT industry's leading association, TIA plays a unique role in enabling and fostering this value chain. With this documentary, we provide a close look at the value chain's impact and where it's headed."
