TIA issues New Electrical Characteristics of Reversible balanced voltage digital interface circuits Standard

ANSI/TIA-4963 Specifies Requirements for:

Electrical Characteristics of Reversible balanced voltage digital interface circuits.

Arlington, VA (April 02, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-4963 Electrical Characteristics of Reversible balanced voltage digital interface circuits

ANSI/TIA-4963 specifies requirements for telecommunications infrastructure for: This new Standard is an enhanced version of TIA-485-A, Electrical Characteristics of balanced voltage digital interface circuits. The new Standard accommodates that generators and receivers are immune of the interchange of binary signals in multipoint interconnection of digital equipment. When implemented within the guidelines of this Standard, multiple generators and receivers may be attached to a common interconnecting cable. The generators and receivers operate with no errors if the balanced interconnecting cables are connected normally or with the differential signal wires reversed. It is planned that users reference this Standard for the point-to-point interchange of binary signals between equipment and components at signaling rates up to 5 Mbps over a single differential transmission line of nominal test load of 60?. Higher rates and different transmission line impedance are possible in optimal application.

ANSI/TIA-4963 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-30 Multi-Media Access, Protocols and Interfaces, TR-30.2 DTE-DCE Interfaces.
