digitizer

1. A device that converts an analog signal into a digital representation of the analog signal. (188) Note: A digitizer usually samples the analog signal at a constant sampling rate and encodes each sample into a numeric representation of the amplitude value of the sample. 2. A device that converts the position of a point on a surface into digital coordinate data. (188)
