ring latency

In a ring network, such as a token ring network, the time required for a signal to propagate once around the ring. Note 1: Ring latency may be measured in seconds or in bits at the data transmission rate. Note 2: Ring latency includes signal propagation delays in (a) the ring medium, (b) the drop cables, and (c) the data stations connected to the ring network. (188)
