TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Land Mobile Radio Antenna Systems Minimum Standards for RF Signal Boosters

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (August 21, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.11 Engineering Committee on Antenna Systems for Mobile and Personal Private Radio systems has issued a call for interest for document TIA-156-B initially titled "Land Mobile Radio Antenna Systems Minimum Standards for RF Signal Boosters". TR-8.11 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: "Update of TIA-156 Signal boosters standard needed based upon changes made to various FCC rule parts in the February 2013 signal booster rulemaking. Changes were made regarding class A and Class B boosters, as well as any other additional specs needed relating to the use of signal boosters with P25 Phase 2 - TDMA systems as well as LTE systems."

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers and user of Signal boosters for in-building coverage and gap coverage.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
