TIA announced that it will gather executives, industry experts and policymakers for “Enabling Adoption for All,” a two-day workshop focused on the intersection of M2M and cybersecurity.

TIA applauded the House of Representatives for passing H.R. 1580, a bill to oppose efforts by foreign governments to impose new rules on the Internet. The bill calls for preserving the current multi-stakeholder approach to Internet governance, and elevates the issue from a “Sense of Congress” resolution (passed unanimously last year) into an official statement of U.S. policy.

TIA filed comments on Friday, May 10 in support of the United States and European Union entering into a comprehensive, high-standard Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP).

The election was held during TR-8’s meeting in Kansas City, MO, April 23-24, 2013, where the committee launched a new working group on Intrinsic Safety considerations, began discussion on use of signal boosters and awarded a Certificate of Appreciation to departing TR-8.25 Subcommittee Chair Tess Zagaruyka.

TIA filed comments with the California Energy Commission in response to the Commission's rulemaking process of mandated energy conservation standards for set-top boxes and network equipment.
