TIA Commends FAA Decision to Allow Expanded Passenger Use of Portable Electronic Devices
ARLINGTON, VA (October 31, 2013) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today applauded the FAA’s determination that airlines can safely expand passenger use of portable electronic devices during all phases of flight. Permission to use portable electronic devices in-flight is clearly warranted in light of the absence of evidence of safety issues.
TIA has previously submitted comments to the FAA on this issue:
- 10/30/12 TIA Comments to the FAA on its Completed Study of In-Flight Cellular Phone Usage Internationally.
