TIA issues New Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements
for Balanced Twisted-Pair Cabling Standard

Arlington, VA (November 11, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-1152-A Requirements for Field Test Instruments and Measurements for Balanced Twisted-Pair Cabling.

ANSI/TIA-1152-A includes requirements for field test instruments that are used to test balanced twisted-pair cabling as specified in the ANSI/TIA-568.0-D Generic Telecommunications Cabling for Customer Premises structured cabling standards. This standard specifies the reporting and accuracy performance requirements of field testers for balanced twisted-pair cabling measurements and Level IIe, III, IIIe and 2G field tester requirements.

Users of this standard may be field tester and test equipment manufacturers, and structured cabling products manufacturers and structured cabling installers.

TIA-1152-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-42 Telecommunications Cabling Systems and the TR-42.7 Telecommunications Copper Cabling Systems subcommittee.

For more information about TR-42 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Germaine Palangdao at standards@tiaonline.org.

TIA actively seeks participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
