TIA issues New Recommended Minimum Performance Standards for cdma2000® High Rate Packet Data Access Network Standard

Arlington, VA (April 24, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-864-D-1 [E] Recommended Minimum Performance Standards for cdma2000® High Rate Packet Data Access Network.

The TIA-864-D-1 [E] provides technical revisions to the MPS documents for cdma2000 1x MS and BS, cdma2000 HRPD AT and AN, and SVDO AT. In addition, the test procedures for multiple tests have been clarified. The standard details definitions, methods of measurement, and minimum performance requirements for access networks. This Standard shares the purpose of TIA-856.200-C-1 (and subsequent revisions thereof) by ensuring that an access terminal can obtain service in any system that meets the compatibility requirements of TIA-856.200-C-1.

Compatibility, as used in connection with this Standard, is understood to mean that any access terminal is able to open data connections in any HRPD system. Conversely, all HRPD systems are able to open connections with any access terminal.

TIA-864-D-1 [E] was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Point-to-Point Communications Standards, TR-45.5 Spread Spectrum Digital Technology -- Mobile and Personal Communications Standards

For more information about TR-45 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Stephanie Montgomery at standards@tiaonline.org.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

TIA-864-D-1 [E] and all TIA standards may be purchased at http://global.ihs.com.
