TIA issues Self-Organizing Networks (SON) System Requirements Standard
Arlington, VA (September 11, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-4967, Self-Organizing Networks (SON) System Requirements Document.
TIA-4967 specifies system requirements for 3GPP2 Self-Organizing Networks (SON) that guide the work of the enhancements required for cdma2000® technology in support of this feature. The intent is to provide guidance as to what areas require SON-related improvements, and also to understand what areas standardized outside of 3GPP2 can assist in the development of the overall solution for SON.
TIA-4967 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Point-to-Point Communications Standards, TR-45.8 Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards subcommittee.
For more information about TR-45 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Stephanie Montgomery at standards@tiaonline.org.
TIA actively seeks participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
