TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Physical Layer for Extended Cell High Rate Packet Data (xHRPD) Air Interface Specification

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (December 11, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-45.5 Engineering Committee on Spread Spectrum Digital Technology -- Mobile and Personal Communications Standards has issued a call for interest for document TIA-1185.200-A initially titled "Physical Layer for Extended Cell High Rate Packet Data (xHRPD) Air Interface Specification". TR-45.5 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: "Features to be used for disaster scenarios and new band class for IMT-MSS band with associated minimum performance specifications will be developed. It will also clarify that xHRPD can be supported by Evolved Packet Core (EPC) network."

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Mobile and Base station manufacturers.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
