TIA Issues New Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Technical Requirements for Connection of Terminal Equipment to the Telephone Network - Addendum 2 Standard
Arlington, VA (February 5, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-968-B-2 Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Technical Requirements for Connection of Terminal Equipment to the Telephone Network - Addendum 2.
ANSI/TIA-968-B-2 - This Standard specifies technical criteria for terminal equipment approved in accordance with Title 47 of the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations (47 C.F.R.), Part 68 for direct connection to the public switched telephone network, including private line services provided over wireline facilities owned by providers of wireline telecommunications.
This addendum adds a new sub-clause specifying the use of an acoustic stimulus signal when testing analog telephones having electroacoustic transducers for live voice input for compliance with out-of-band emissions and in-band longitudinal signal requirements.
ANSI/TIA-968-B-2 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-41 Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products, TR-41.9 Technical and Administrative Regulatory Considerations subcommittee.
