TIA Issues a Call for Interest on a New Project for Understanding Duplex and Single Row Fiber Polarity

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (June 02, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.11 Engineering Committee on Optical Systems (568) has issued a call for interest for document TSB-5040 initially titled Understanding Duplex and Single Row Fiber Polarity. TR-42.11 is developing guidelines for this Telecommunications Systems Bulletin (TSB) which provides guidance on polarity with respect to optical components defined in ANSI/TIA-568, e.g. duplex fiber optic connectors and single-row multi fiber optic connectors, therefore giving readers clarity to their interactions and channel connectivity. This TSB will complement the standards listed below. • ANSI/TIA-568-C.0 Generic Telecommunications Cabling for Customer Premises and its addenda. • ANSI/TIA-568-C.3 Optical Fiber Cabling Component Standard and its addenda.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers, end-users, installers, designers of optical fiber cabling systems.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
