International Policy: Robust cross-border data flows have been central to the growth of a global Internet. But a system that has long operated on trust is now being called into question. Consumer advocates in Europe have raised concerns about privacy, while the Chinese government has sought to circumscribe the Internet under the banner of national security. How can we maximize the potential for continued global information sharing, to better capture the network effects of the Internet and avoid walled gardens?

Internet of Things: As connectivity becomes more ubiquitous and cuts across multiple industry sectors, the Internet of Things (IoT) presents immense opportunity for business growth and societal benefit. What is the role of IoT in the future of American cities? What is the role of government, both regional and federal in IoT? How will security, privacy, and standards be addressed?
