TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Radiowave Propagation --- Path Loss --- Measurement and Validation
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (March 15, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.18 Engineering Committee on Wireless Systems Compatibility - Interference and Coverage has issued a call for interest for document TSB-176-A, initially titled Radiowave Propagation --- Path Loss --- Measurement and Validation. TR-8.18 is developing guidelines defined by adding material on broadband measurements and updating existing material. The justification for this project is the PLMR systems will soon be adding broadband capability and some of the existing material is out-of-date.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: PLMR manufacturers, system owners, and consultants.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.
A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
