Arlington, VA (Nov. 14, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, today welcomed the passage of the Enhance Labeling, Accessing, and Branding of Electronic Licenses Act of 2014 (E-LABEL Act). The legislation, which now awaits President Obama’s signature, modernizes federal labeling requirements for manufacturers of phones, computers, and other electronics by giving them the option to digitally label devices.

(Nov. 12, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks, sent a letter to the Senate Committee on Finance and House Committee on Ways and Means urging a permanent extension of the R&D credit. The letter notes that a permanent R&D credit is expected to create $33 billion per year in additional research and development spending, and making the credit permanent is necessary to promote certainty for businesses.
