TIA Issues Call for Interest for Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) Systems – Requirements, Data Exchange and Applications
Arlington VA. (October 19, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), ), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks that develops voluntary standards for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, today announced a call for interest to open a new project document, TIA-5048, initially titled Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) Systems – Requirements, Data Exchange and Applications.
TIA’s Engineering Subcommittee TR-42.6 for Telecommunications Infrastructure and Equipment Administration (606) is developing guidelines that specify the requirements and recommendations for the attributes of Automated Infrastructure Management (AIM) systems, including operational efficiency, and stipulates a framework for the exchange of data with other systems.
Key stakeholders for this specification include cabling system designers, installers, consultants, architects, manufacturers, cabling systems owners, facilities management organizations, and contractors.
TIA’s standards activities are carried out by voluntary members of TIA’s Engineering Committees and actively seek participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities. For more information about TIA’s Engineering Committee TR-42 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Germaine Palangdao at standards@tiaonline.org.
