Arlington VA. (October 19, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA), the leading association representing the manufacturers and suppliers of high-tech communications networks that develops voluntary standards for the information and communications technology (ICT) industry, today announced has issued a call for interest to open a new project  document, J-STD-036-C-2, initially titled Enhanced Wireless 9-1-1 Phase II

TIA’s Engineering Subcommittee TR-45.8 for Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards is developing guidelines to modify the industry’s Emergency Services, E 9-1-1Phase 2 standard to add six handset and five hybrid position source codes for geodetic position reporting and three class of service codes for civic address reporting.
