TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components Standard, Addendum 1: Specifications for 100 Ω Category 8 Cabling

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (February 26, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.7 Engineering Committee on Telecommunications Copper Cabling Systems has issued a call for interest for document TIA-568-C.2-1 initially titled  Balanced Twisted-Pair Telecommunications Cabling and Components Standard, Addendum 1: Specification for 100 Ω Category 8 Cabling Standard.

This addendum will develop a new category of cabling to support future applications beyond 10GBASE-T. A new category of cabling to support increased capacity for future applications.

 The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Network designers, installers, building owners and building tenants.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
