TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for FDMA – Common Air Interface
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (April 03, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.15 Engineering Committee on Common Air Interface has issued a call for interest for document TIA-102.BAAA-B initially titled FDMA – Common Air Interface. The FDMA Common Air Interface ensures that subscriber unit equipment interoperates at the Physical Layer and Data Link Layer with subscriber unit equipment from different manufacturers, and with radio systems for different agencies. This allows effective and reliable intra-agency and inter-agency communications in an all-digital mode for voice and data.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: APCO Project 25, Private Land Mobile Radio users and manufacturers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.
A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
