TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for FOTP-78 IEC 60793-1-40 Optical Fibres - Part1-40: Measurement Methods and Test Procedures - Attenuation

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (October 14, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.12 Engineering Committee on Optical Fibers and Cables has issued a call for interest for document TIA/EIA-455-78-B initially titled FOTP-78 IEC 60793-1-40 Optical Fibres - Part1-40: Measurement Methods and Test Procedures - Attenuation. This new TR-42.12 project  establishes requirements for measuring the attenuation of optical fiber, thereby assisting in the inspection of fibers and cables for commercial purposes.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Telecom, Optical Fiber Manufacturers, Developers and Users.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
