TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Interoperability Testing for Voice Operation in Trunked Systems

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (January 8, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.25 Engineering Committee on Compliance Assessment has issued a call for interest for document TIA-102.CABC-C initially titled  Interoperability Testing for Voice Operation in Trunked Systems. TR-8.25 is developing guidelines in the area defined by the following scope: This document describes interoperability testing for trunking, and is limited to functional operations integral to the performance of voice procedures between subscriber radios and Fixed Network Equipment (FNE) under management of a trunking controller. Physically, the test procedures are confined to SUs (mobile and portable) and FNE. This revision will incorporate addendum TIA-102.CABC-B-1 and update references to this document. Upon the publication of  TIA-102.CABC-B-1  the committee will be seeking approval of the Project 25 steering committee for this project to become a part of Project 25 suite of standards

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Project 25 and/or TIA-102 Series equipment manufacturers and end users.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee.
