TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for J-STD-110 Implementation Guidelines
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (March 18, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-45.8 Engineering Committee on Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards has issued a call for interest for document J-STD-110.01.v2 initially titled J-STD-110 Implementation Guidelines. TR-45.8 is developing guidelines for Commercial Mobile Radio Service (CMRS) and Text Control Center (TCC) providers that will address key implementation guidelines for areas such as: TCC deployment and SMS to 911 operational support by CMRS and TCC providers which represent a portion of the interim SMS to 911 solution; Identify field testing and supporting tests to verify deployment compliance with the SMS to 911 standards-based portion of the interim SMS to 911 solution; Identification of the elements of deployment timelines. In addition, this standard promotes the coordination aspects needed with NENA, APCO, & others as well as furthering deployments through the education of the public safety community and the general public.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: wireless service providers and equipment vendors, public safety.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
