TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Network Model for Evaluating Multimedia Transmission Performance Over Internet Protocol

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (May 19, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-30.3 Engineering Committee on Data Communications Equipment Evaluation and Network Interfaces has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA- 921-C initially titled Network Model for Evaluating Multimedia Transmission Performance Over Internet Protocol. TR-30.3 is revising TIA-921 (PN-3-0062-RV2) to better model the mechanisms that contribute to packet delay, jitter, and loss: layer 4 protocols, interfering streams, queue delays in network elements, and the characteristics of specific and additional access technologies. The intent is to provide more realism than the earlier version.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers and users of multi-media access.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
