TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Process for Sustainable Information Communications Technology Manufacturers
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (April 05, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.10 Engineering Committee on Sustainable Information Communications Technology has issued a call for interest for document TSB-5046 initially titled Process for Sustainable Information Communications Technology Manufacturers.
TR-42.10 is developing guidelines in the area defined in this Technical Systems Bulletin provides recommendations for a process to establish, implement and document sustainable practices for manufacturers of information communications technology equipment and infrastructure. This process applies to manufacturing of products, administration, facilities and general operations associated with products.
“TR42-10 is made up of individuals from a wide cross section of technology designers and innovators who take a long-term, holistic view of implementing systems that will serve needs for a long time,” said TR-42.10 Chair Glenn Sexton. “As such, we represent a deep commitment to developing and continuing sustainable practices as they relate to the components we specify on a daily basis. The creation of TSB-5046 will further enhance manufacturer’s ability to cultivate and document creative methods in their processes.”
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers; suppliers; distributors; system integrators; resellers; network operators; facility managers.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
