TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Telecommunications, Communications Products, Receive Volume Control Requirements for Wireless (Mobile) Devices

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (April 19, 2017) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-41.3 Engineering Committee on Analog and Digital Wireline Terminals has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-5050 initially titled Telecommunications, Communications Products, Receive Volume Control Requirements for Wireless (Mobile) Devices. TR-41.3 is developing guidelines which will establish receive volume control requirements and testing methods for narrowband, wideband, super-wideband and full band wireless (mobile) handsets. Current volume control requirements for these devices are included in different standards documents with different requirements. The method in this standard uses conversational gain, the acoustic output signal from a device relative to the signal level that would be present in a face-to-face conversation at a distance of 1 meter.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers, users, distributors of wireless mobile devices.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
