TIA Issues Call for Interest on a New Project for Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Labeling Requirements
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (March 27, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-41.9 Engineering Committee on Technical and Administrative Regulatory Considerations has issued a call for interest for document TIA-168-C initially titled Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Labeling Requirements. TR-41.9 is developing guidelines which specify the labeling requirements for terminal equipment approved by a Telecommunications Certification Body or a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity for connection to the telephone network in accordance with 47 CFR 68. This revision will add the details allowing devices with an integrated display screen to present the required label information electronically (e-label) in lieu of a physical label or nameplate.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Terminal Equipment Manufacturers, Regulatory Bodies (FCC & IC), Network Service Providers, Compliance Test Laboratories, Telecommunications Certifications Bodies (TCBs), Administrative Council for Terminal Attachments (ACTA), Terminal Attachment Program Advisory Committee (TAPAC).
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
