TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Resistance and Impedance Performance Requirements for Analog Telephones

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (October 9, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-41.3 Engineering Committee on Analog and Digital Wireline Terminals has issued a call for interest for document ANSI/TIA-470.210-F initially titled Telecommunications - Telephone Terminal Equipment - Resistance and Impedance Performance Requirements for Analog Telephones. TR-41.3 is developing guidelines to revise ANSI/TIA-470.210-E to remove impedance requirements related to B-Type ringing.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers, specifiers, and users of digital telephones and other communications devices providing voice transmission, regardless of protocol or digital format. Specifiers may include retail equipment buyers, enterprise and government procurement officers, etc.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

For more information about TR-41 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
