TIA Issues a Call for Interest on a New Project for TIA-455-171-B: Attenuation by Substitution Measurement for Short Length Multimode Graded Index and Single-Mode Optical Fiber Cable Assemblies

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (August 18, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-42.13 Engineering Committee on Passive Optical Devices and Fiber Optic Metrology has issued a call for interest for document TIA-455-171-B initially titled TIA-455-171-B:  (Attenuation by Substitution Measurement for Short Length Multimode Graded Index and Single-Mode Optical Fiber Cable Assemblies) TR-42.13 is developing guidelines which describe the various methods available to measure the attenuation of optical components.

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Manufacturers and users of fiber optics cables.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
