TIA Issues Call for Interest on new Project for Two-Slot TDMA Control Channel MAC Layer Specification
Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.
Arlington VA. (February 10, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.12 Engineering Committee on Two Slot TDMA has issued a call for interest for document TIA-102.BBAD initially titled Two-Slot TDMA Control Channel MAC Layer Specification. TR-8.12 is developing guidelines which specifies the MAC layer protocol for a logical control channel on the Um2 interface. These are the aspects of the logical control channel MAC layer: 1. Logical channel structure 2. Burst descriptions and field definitions 3. Logical control channel procedures 4. Logical control channel messages The information necessary to enable an interoperable MAC layer protocol for a Two Slot TDMA control channel is provided. The original Two Slot TDMA project always contemplated the addition of a logical control channel leveraging the existing Two Slot TDMA air interface standard (BBAB), an evolution to the FDMA CCH.
The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: users and vendors of public safety.
TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
