TIA Issues Call for Interest on New Project for Wireless Communications Systems - Performance in Noise and Interference-Limited Situations - Part 2: Propagation and Noise

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation.

Arlington VA. (March 12, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.18 Engineering Committee on Wireless Systems Compatibility - Interference and Coverage has issued a call for interest for document TSB-88.2-E initially titled Wireless Communications Systems - Performance in Noise and Interference-Limited Situations - Part 2: Propagation and Noise. The purpose of TSB-88 series of bulletins is to define a sound standardized methodology for addressing technology compatibility. These documents provide a structure and technical parameters from which automated design and spectrum management tools can be developed for systems that have either identical or differing technologies. Part 2 of TSB-88 addresses propagation and noise issues within the context described above. This revision of Part 2 is intended to address broadband issues and revise the existing text to reflect advances in the state of propagation knowledge."

The stakeholders may include, but are not limited to: Communications equipment manufacturers, consultants, public safety or critical infrastructure system operators.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees. On the public engineering committee pages, users will find recent meeting reports, agendas and notices for upcoming meetings, as well as links to some of the most popular standards from each committee. TIA is accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Visit tiaonline.org.
