TIA Issues Call for Interest on Two Land Mobile Radio Performance Standards Projects

Stakeholders Invited to Contact TIA Regarding Participation

Arlington VA. (May 24, 2018) – The Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) TR-8.1 Engineering Committee on Equipment Measurement Procedures has issued a call for interest for two standards projects related to land mobile radio performance.

For document TIA-603-F initially titled "Land Mobile FM or PM - Communications Equipment - Measurement and Performance Standards," the committee is developing guidelines that will provide updates to modify signal generator VSWR specs, add a High Signal Strength Intermodulation test and offer performance recommendations.

For document TIA-102.CAAB-E initially titled "Land Mobile Radio Transceiver Performance Recommendations – Digital Radio Technology, C4FM/CQPSK Modulation,” the committee is developing guidelines that will provide general clarifications and add a High Signal Strength Intermodulation test and offer performance recommendations.

The stakeholders may include but are not limited to: manufacturers and users of TIA-603 compliant equipment, and manufacturers and users of TIA-102 compliant equipment.

TIA is actively seeking participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities. For more information about TR-8 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Victoria Mitchell at standards@tiaonline.org.

A major function of the Telecommunications Industry Association (TIA) is the writing and maintenance of voluntary industry standards and specifications. These activities are carried out by the volunteer members of TIA engineering committees.
