TIA Issues New Network Model for Evaluating Multimedia Transmission Performance Over Internet Protocol Standard
Arlington, VA (May 2, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, ANSI/TIA-921-C Network Model for Evaluating Multimedia Transmission Performance Over Internet Protocol.
ANSI/TIA-921-C specifies requirements to revise TIA-921 (PN-3-0062RV2) to better model the mechanisms that contribute to packet delay, jitter, and loss: layer 4 protocols, interfering streams, queue delays in network elements, and the characteristics of specific and additional access technologies. The intent is to provide more authenticity than the earlier version.
ANSI/TIA-921-C was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-30 Multi-Media Access, Protocols and Interfaces, TR-30.3 Data Communications Equipment Evaluation and Network Interfaces subcommittee.
For more information about TR-30 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Germaine Palangdao at standards@tiaonline.org.
TIA actively seeks participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
ANSI/TIA-921-C and all TIA standards may be purchased at http://global.ihs.com.
