TIA issues New Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations Standard
Arlington, VA (May 27, 2014) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-4950-A Requirements for Battery-Powered, Portable Land Mobile Radio Applications in Class I, II, and III, Division 1, Hazardous (Classified) Locations
This revision effort intends to further enhance the focus of this document on portable Land Mobile Radio (LMR) applications. The revision will solidify document coverage of the new technologies in use in portable LMR today.
TIA-4950-A was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-8 Mobile and Personal Private Radio Standards, TR-8.21 Land Mobile Radio (LMR) Intrinsic Safety(IS) Consideration
