TIA issues New Telecommunications – Telephone Terminal Equipment - Rationale and Measurement Guidelines for U.S. Network Protection - Addendum 3 Standard
Arlington, VA (March 29, 2016) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TSB-31-D-3 Telecommunications – Telephone Terminal Equipment - Rationale and Measurement Guidelines for U.S. Network Protection - Addendum 3.
TSB-31-D-3 specifies changes in section 14.4 and its subsections to 9.41 and add some new text to this section. The new subsection 14.4 on test procedures for performing out-of-band metallic and longitudinal noise measurements on equipment with acoustic inputs would be in section 14 of TSB-31-D, which is title “HEARING AID COMPATIBILITY”. Since this test is not related to HAC, I propose this new test procedures be under section 9 “SIGNAL POWER LIMITATIONS”.
TSB-31-D-3 was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-41 Performance and Accessibility for Communications Products, TR-41.9 Technical and Administrative Regulatory Considerations subcommittee.
For more information about TR-41 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Marianna Kramarikova at standards@tiaonline.org.
TIA actively seeks participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.
