TIA issues New Voice Call Continuity between IMS and Circuit Switched Systems Standard

Arlington, VA (February 05, 2015) – The Telecommunications Industry Association, which develops standards for the information and communications technology industry, has released a new document, TIA-1093-C Voice Call Continuity between IMS and Circuit Switched Systems.

TIA-1093-C specifies requirements for TIA-1093-B and will be enhanced to support the transfer of an emergency voice call initiated on IMS over an LTE access by a single transmitter UE to 1xRTT. The transfer of the emergency call could be initiated due to the degradation of the UE radio signal strength.

TIA-1093-C was formulated under the cognizance of the TIA TR-45 Mobile and Point-to-Point Communications Standards, TR-45.8 Core Networks - Mobile and Personal Communications Standards subcommittee.

For more information about TR-45 and how to participate in standards development with TIA, contact Stephanie Montgomery at standards@tiaonline.org.

TIA actively seeks participation in these projects from the user and general interest communities.

TIA-1093-C and all TIA standards may be purchased at http://global.ihs.com.
